Danger Of Death

Regular readers of the blog will know that one of my favourite ways to while away the hours is sipping cocktails with friends. Add to that a love of finding hidden nooks, secret places and new homes from home and tonight was a pretty perfect night.

When I first discovered Danger Of Death I knew I had to go. Then, when they did a membership amnesty at the end of last year which meant your membership fee would be added to a bar tab for you, well it seemed silly not to give it a go...

So tonight we found ourselves discovering the bar, hidden under a pizza shop, behind a locked door, with hazard warning sign of course and once we'd figured out the secret code to get in (ok, we asked someone), we were soon seated in one of the loveliest bars I'd ever seen.

The bar has a great drinks menu with drinks listed in order of strength (from 'No structural damage' right up to 'Practically total destruction') and being sensible we all started at the lower end of the range.

Of course being sensible all night wouldn't be much fun, so we steadily made our way through the strengths, and even off menu with the extremely lovely, hilarious and knowledgable guy who dealt with us, catering to my odd tastebud whims.

We will be back.
