Beading And Bakery

I'm still working away on my latest project but can offer you no photos as I want to keep it hidden until it's published. This is partly so it's a nice surprise when it does appear, and partly because it won't be in print until July 2012 and as this is a project which has been mentally in progress for a decade, and physically in progress for 6 years, the thought of seeing it copied before it's even published would be too heart-breaking for me.

So instead all I can offer you is a close-up of the gorgeous pewter beads I'm using. I had bought a 100g not knowing how many it would take and so far it does appear I will get through the whole bag before the end. This is not a subtle project!

As all I am doing at the moment is sitting inside by the wood fire, watching kittens play, beading and consuming food & beverages there is not much I can photograph to show you (the kittens are proving to be very camera shy). But today I left the house for a visit to the supermarket, for emergency French bread and lunch supplies, and took my camera just in case. The only thing that caught my eye were these amazing looking cakes but as I knew they would be far too sweet for me I settled for some ham and soup instead.
