Brooches And Bows

A few years ago I won in a raffle a brooch made of a measuring tape. It was unlabelled so I had no idea where it came from. Unfortunately over time it went missing and I've mourned its loss ever since. Recently I saw in an interior design magazine a large version in a metallic finish and I knew I had to learn how to make them both as brooches and as general decorations.

A bit of searching later and I finally figured it out and tracked down some colourful measuring tapes to make my own. Cue some fiddling around and I'd soon managed to make 10 of the original design and another 5 of a variation I came up with to use up all the colourful scraps that were left.

I plan on giving these as Christmas presents (excluding the 5 I'm keeping for myself of course) and if people don't like rosette brooches or pear jam they won't be very happy on Christmas morning.
