It's Not That Hard...

... to please me. One thing that delights me, whilst at the same time resoring my faith in humankind, is good service. Unfortunately it's all too rare a commodity sometimes  which I guess makes it noticable when it does occur.

I am a big fan of the bar Callooh Callay and especially the small, private bar you have to be a member of, the JubJub Bar. This is a small room which only has a bartender some nights and on other nights you can book it and order from downstairs. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion, a treat with a loved one or just when you want a quieter setting to chat with friends, this last reason was why I booked it the other week. Unfortunately, to cut a long story short, when we got there the service and greeting was weird and we ended up not in the private bar but in the back bar. Seeing as this is gorgeous and with the same lovely drinks etc it wasn't a problem, just annoying as it wasn't what I had booked for and what my excited companions were expecting.

When I emailed the next day they responded immediately with an apology and I thought that was the end of it.

Tonight was my first visit back there since and they soon let me know that wasn't the end of it!

Immediately we received the warmest possible welcome (which they usually do so nothing new there) and then were, with no fuss or drama, given a free bottle of champagne to start our evening. Of course getting off to such a good start meant our evening went with a bang and the fact the owners and manager all took the time to come and apologise and thank me for returning restored my faith in people actually caring about customers.

Why can't everywhere get it so right?

So our evening was spent trying the new cocktail menu whilst also admiring its design. They always outdo themselves with the menus and the new one's IKEA influenced design is great.
