Oodles Of Crystals

Today I headed off to StitchnCraft Beads to teach my Interlocking Crystals.

The weather in the UK has turned unbelievably hot and it was a treat to get out of London and enjoy it.

As always, when teaching I really enjoyed seeing all the differently coloured variations made throughout the day and it was a real surprise just how different some of the crystals could be made to look depending on the seed beads used with them. This was especially apparent when Green Sphinx rivolis were used. Mixed with green beads they were very green but add blue beads and the green all but disappeared.

Seeing all the variations appear around me was very inspiring and I made myself a single unit to wear as a pendant and a new ring version. It also inspired me to buy some new beads (not that I needed much encouragement) and I came home with the Delica versions of some of the pewter coloured Duracoat beads I fell in love with earlier this year.

I also treated myself to some yarn to make a scarf. I've had my eye on this yarn each time I've visited the shop and with October only a few days away I thought it was the right time to buy it. Except of course today was so hot the thought of wearing a scarf made me feel distinctly queasy. But I bought it anyway and will drag it out when the weather gets cold again. I also treated myself to a pen with a crystal on the end and went home pleased with the day and my newly-added-to stash.
