Increasing My Education

Another sunny day in Tucson and once again chatter draws me from my bed.

I had promised that today I would talk about my triangles and do so and soon everyone begins flying along and lots of variations begin to emerge.

You can see some of the variations here and here. I love Jeroen's triangle which looks like it has a claw and also Teresa's 'wavy' version which, as you can see in my photos we managed to turn into some kind of trillium. Then there's Dustin's which he turned into a ring using not just nicer colours than mine, but a nicer pattern and a nicer band- I think I'm going off him!

I continue with my Teresa Sullivan inspired heads and manage to finish my second one. Beading these I really feel like I've turned a corner and come out of my melancholy.

Before long it is unfortunately time for the DeCosters to leave and we bid them a sad farewell. Fortunately Kate and Dustin manage to video Marcia before she goes and you can see some of the footage here. Marcia has much more sensible and useful answers than I do to the same questions when I am asked them. Watch her and learn- I did.

We soon head off to lunch to El Molinito where I quiz everyone what every item on the menu is- they are all alien to me. Once educated I enjoy, for the first time, Tamales, Fish Tacos and a 'cheese' enchillada. I am not convinced it was cheese though. Maybe some crazy American cheese which seems to adorn a lot of food here and is possibly made from melted down NY taxi cabs mixed with orange crayons such is the colour, texture and taste. I'm not saying I don't like it, just that I had to ask what it was which doesn't seem right for cheese. Surely cheese should give off the impression of being made of cheese?

This is my third time eating Mexican food on this trip and I love it- as I somehow knew I would. We don't really do Mexican food in the UK and I will have to search it out when I get home.  I hope the Gods of Google shine on me and I find tamales near me when I get home.

Dessert is sopaipillas which seem to me to be like the beignets I loved in New Orleans years ago but designed to be filled with honey. These were also not as nice unfortunately but at least appeared to be entirely comprised of edible ingredients.

Soon it as back home for more beading and then a walk to find a car I had spotted on my previous walk so I could show it to the car mad Teresa. Unfortunately the car wasn't to be found but we saw lots of other delights and I will add more photos soon.

The evening ended with us staying up late, telling stories and talking about phobias and fears until we were all exhausted.
