Shopping And Resisting

posted: Monday, 18 April 2011

A busy day with last minute shopping and packing before my trip down to Cornwall.

I have lunch at the lovely Canteen and then head to Oxford St for a bit of shopping and resisting being tempted by things.

My first destination was Selfridges where I had a very short shopping list- 100% cocoa chocolate. I managed to find my favourite at the La Maison Du Chocolat concession as well as some I hadn't tried before at Artisan Du Chocolat. I resisted buying bacon chocolate though, mainly as it was only 60% cocoa and I knew it would be too sweet for me.

Next it was a brief walk through of the magazine and stationery departments trying to wear blinkers but I was unable to resist buying a magazine I hadn't seen before: The Gentlewoman. I love reading magazines, especially those related to jobs I don't do and industries I don't work in. I love learning more about different worlds than mine and if something is written by someone who is interested in the subject, they usually manage to make it interesting for any reader.

Before heading out of the shop I walk through a section with items from Supermarket Sarah and of course cannot resist a good look. There are some tempting items but I leave empty-handed. Though if these strange animal things had been brooches like I thought they were I would have bought one. I have no idea what they are- all suggestions welcome!
