I am working away on my "Inspired By Gaudi" project which I will be teaching at a retreat I am running in September 2011 with Lynn Davy and Jill Devon.

My piece has been inspired by geometric shapes (no surprise there) and the mosaic work he used a lot.

I was particularly inspired by an incredible photo I found (you can see it here) which showed one of his chimneys with the mosaic looking so strong against the blue sky.

My first attempt at getting the right colours uses blue for the stripes with oranges, yellow and dots of black for the mosaic work.

Unfortunately, whilst I love the colours, it looks a bit "messy" and the stripes are lost amongst all the colours.

So, onto my next attempt...
