A Familiar Face

I'm off on my travels again and this time it is back down to Chichester to Earnley (one of my favourite places in the world) to teach a week-long geometric beading class.

I taught the same class last year and it's lovely that some of the students have come back again.

We had such fun last year, well, if you ignore the nightmare time I had beading Onye 4 that is!

I have only worn the pendant once as I wasn't confident that the large stone would stay in. Since then it has sat unworn and unloved just waiting for me to add another row of beads.

This week away seemed the perfect opportunity to fix it, especially as it would mean I actually got to finish it in less than a year from when I last picked it up!

So my first job of the week, once everyone was beading, was to add one extra row and already the piece is much more secure and I think I can actually wear her with pride now.

Whenever I travel to a class I try and take as much beadwork as I can so everyone has lots of eyecandy to look at. As this is a nice long class I also asked everyone else to bring some of their own work so I got to drool over some too- and they didn't disappoint me!

We soon managed to fill a table with work as well as lots of different displays all around the room which generated much discussion over the week.

You really can't beat a whole week with other beaders, chatting about beads and beadwork!
