Back And Beady

I'm firmly back from my holidays and straight back to work.

I'm delighted to be able to finally bring you all the news I know so many of you have been waiting for- at long last I am  beginning to sell the instructions for some of the items in my Geometric Beadwork series!

These have been a long time coming and I hope you will agree they have been worth the wait.

Take a look at the individual sets (Geometric 3.4.1, Geometric Stars, Geometric 3.4.4, Geometric 3.5.1 and 2.5.2, Geometric Beaded Beads and last but not least Geometric 5.4.1 and 5.4.2) to find out more details or dive right in and buy the whole series at a special offer price.

Newsletter subscribers have already been emailed an extra 10% off offer so if you're not a member make sure you sign up so you don't miss out on future offers!

I'm also pleased to be able to let you know about two new classes I'm doing next year.

I recently wrote all about the fun I had at The Make Lounge and now you can experience that with the added bonus (!?!) of doing a class with me! For two evenings (one in February and one in March) I will be teaching a class based on Byzantine chain where you get to make two different pieces.

As a reward for getting through my first week back I took myself off to L'Atelier Des Chefs for a 2-hour class on making macarons/ macaroons.  I was the only person in the class so had full attention as I made 4 different types (raspberry with rose flavoured filling, caramel and white chocolate, lime and ginger and chocolate and mandarin). That also meant I got to bring far too many home and even though I distributed some to friends I may be in a self-induced sugar coma by the end of the weekend.

The course was great fun and I love the idea of getting to learn something new, have fun, eat and leave all the hard work (weighing, chopping, washing-up etc) to someone else. I'll definitely be back.

Before my class I managed to sneak in a five minute visit to a craft fair run by We Make London to visit my friends who run Natty Jewels.

Unfortunately because of big delays on the underground it really was a flying visit and I didn't get a chance to look at all the stalls I wanted to, which was a shame as there appeared to be some amazing work.

Time also prevented me from visiting another fair in London, this time one run by Bust Magazine and happening in Euston. Bust magazine is fabulous and the only 'women's magazine I recommend. If you're looking for more from a magazine than the usual celebrity gossip and pages written purely to urge you to shop, diet and hate your body, then Bust is for you. Just wish I'd got to the fair- still not having time to browse does have the added benefit of stopping you spending so much- leaving more money to be spent on cooking course!
