I discovered today that Aaron James Draplin was visiting London and giving a talk and quickly re-arranged everything to get there ASAP.
I'm a huge, huge fan of his work which is so visually striking that when I first discovered it made me feel like I’d been hit with a truck.
His use of colour, shape, spacing, font and graphics is so appealing and satisfying to me so I was delighted today to get to meet him and pick up some of his beautiful merch.He’s also inspired me to take a long hard look at the work I make and the lines I cross between my personal design aesthetic and the work I produce to appeal to others.
Lots to ponder... and I’m excited to see where it takes me
