Snow Day

posted: Saturday, 03 March 2018

Last Saturday it was so hot & sunny when I was teaching that people were stripping off and the frosting on cakes was melting. This Saturday my teaching is cancelled as trains aren't making it through the snow & ice and my students are snowed in - what a difference a week makes.

So I'm making the most of my snow day and working on the update to my Advanced Stars.

This blast-from-the-past blog photo from May 2016 hints at bicones incorporated into my work (on my Iskra Box) which are directly beaded into my work with no other ‘strung’ beads needed...

This is a technique I’ve used in my work for some years but it took me until 2016 to re-bead my very old Iskra Box and write the technique up...

And I’m busy writing it up again with many more diagrams, photos and charts to be released soon as a new addition to my Advanced Stars pattern.

But why stop there? How about ‘beading bicones into beaded bicones’... and doing the same in other Peyote Stitch beadwork...I can’t wait to finally get this out there!
