Photography SetUp

Working away on my new Rivolis book means it's time to get down to some serious photography- arrghh!

I hate photography as I'm not very good at it and always end up leaving it to the last second possible and then rushing it and not allowing myself the time I need to really learn what I'm doing and get better. It's an annoying vicious cycle I'm hoping to break and this set-up is the start of that.

I've invested in lots of new lights, a staging table and some lovely backgrounds all ready to spend lots of time tomorrow working on a few photos and trying to get the hang of using all the equipment.

Once it was all set-up it was time for some beading where I managed to break 4 needles in 2 hours. I don't know what it is I do to my needles but no matter what brand I use (and I try all that I can find at all price ranges) I tear through them and either have them bend ridiculously or snap in half.

I prefer to use long needles and the thickest I can (I generally I use 10s) as it helps me with my grip and my hands not get too tired or cramp, and anything finer I bend in half really quickly anyway.

People talk about using the same needle for months and I can't even use just 1 per project or even 1 per evening. All advice (that isn't just 'try Tulips' as they snap even quicker for me) gratefully received!
