A Big Splash In London

posted: Monday, 22 May 2017

Way back in February I posted about the David Hockney exhibit and my craving for sunshine.

The last night at nearly midnight on Sunday as I was still working I remembered this cartoon by David Sipress I'd seen recently.

The craving, and the need to step away from work when it was still light, combined this afternoon as London has a wonderful heatwave and after working for 7 hours I escaped at 2pm and ran away to the beautiful Uxbridge Lido.

Here I got to lay in the sun and swim in absolutely freezing cold water. But it was worth it to get out of the water and feel my feet warm up on the hot concrete and see my footprints evaporate just had I had been longing for these past few months.

Of course I had to come back to work afterwards but the memory of it will stay etched on my soul for a long time.
