GBBS 2017 - Day 2

posted: Thursday, 04 May 2017

It's the start of the Great British Bead Show and I'm delighted to be teaching the masterclass - my Iskra Box.

It was a great class and everyone worked so hard and got so much done.

An early start (with no-one having to travel on the day) along with a late lunch (delaying that post-lunch-slump) really had an amazing effect and so much was beaded over the day that I think I'll see finished boxes very soon...

It's great being at the show and meeting up with friends I haven't seen for a very long time and spending time with other beaders and getting to see so much lovely beadwork being worn. A real treat.

Another treat is getting to see beadwork people have done from classes with me or patterns etc.
One item, which has really blown my mind, is this version of my Iskra Box by Christine Frogbrook.
Christine is a lovely, talented beader who loves doing the sort of long, repetitive beadwork which drives me crazy. And she does it so well!
The scale of this box is hard to get across in the photo but each round currently takes her 45-60 minutes. I can't wait to see this when it's done!
