Meet The Maker Week 2016 - Day 1

posted: Monday, 28 November 2016

It's Day One of #meetthemakerweek on Instagram and I'll be reposting my posts from there to here but I do urge you all to check out the link so that you can see the thousands of wonderful posts from other makers.

Today's theme is all about 'brand' and my brand is all about...me!

I design & make all my own work and long ago decided to simply have faith in myself & the work I do and to therefore let my name stand as a quality mark and my brand.

I kept my logo simple & basic so that the intricacy & colour of my work could take centre-stage on my website and speak for itself.

I design jewellery for a living and specialise in beadwork though work in other mediums also.

My main business is selling instructions so you can make my designs yourself (I have 100s of patterns & kits for sale and am working on my 9th & 10th books) and teaching (I'm lucky enough to travel the world spreading beady love & knowledge!) but I do also sell my finished work.

I am based in London and have worked in this field for about 13 years now, after it began as a hobby, and it has been my sole income for 9 years now.

In more beady news the countdown has begun until next week when I can reveal what these beaded components are for..
