A Secret Day In Secret London

posted: Monday, 09 November 2015

As a belated birthday present one of my sisters is taking me out for the day... but won't say where.

So the day begins with her leading me winding through Central London enjoying teasing me and confusing me. Fortunately she took me into some nice shops to look at nice things so I could hardly complain. Soon we were walking down a side-street and when I stopped to take a photo of an unusual sculpture hanging from the front of a building she went inside... and lo and behold we were in the beautiful Sketch for afternoon tea.

I took so many photos but none of them do the room and the venue justice. The room we dined in was full of pink velvet, rose-gold leaf and David Shrigley art (you can see it clearly on their site here).

The food, and cocktails, were delicious and so beautifully presented that we spent longer looking at and admiring them than we did eating.

Next up was another surprise event and we headed over to East London to a rendezvous point and soon we were on another great event- a walking tour of street art. This I really enjoyed as I was already aware of some of the amazing street art in the art (here and here) and to learn more about the artists was really interesting.

The highlight of my day was spending the whole day with my sister, something I don't get to do nearly enough of, and of course the geocaching we managed to fit in!
