Baroque Beading

Yesterday I taught my Marun bracelet class in London and had such a busy and fun day I completely forgot to take any photos of all the hard work everyone did- oops.

It was also a treat to again this week get to meet other designers whose work I admire- this time Penny Akester and Sarah Cryer.

Meeting Sarah spurred me on to get back to beading and finally bead the beautiful Baroque Measuring Tape project I bought from her a few months ago. I'd been keeping the kit as a 'reward' for when I'd done all the beading I needed to for LOOT and all my classes next year and today seemed like a good day to dive on in.

The pattern was such a joy to bead and the materials pack (which Sarah sells separately) was beautiful - I loved the colours in the finished piece and would never have been brave enough to put them together myself so I'm glad I trusted Sarah as I adore the finished item. The finished tape is now sitting proudly on my beading mat and I may have to bead a few more as I have lots of ideas now for colours...

Sarah sells her tutorials on a few different sites and you can read where and the details here. She also has some materials packs on her Etsy and Folksy sites.

Having not beaded for a while and not suffering any bad effects I was spurred on and even managed to design a star-shaped toggle clasp for a SuperDuo rope I'm going to make.
