Cheese And Crochet

Back home and mourning the end of my holiday I'm pleased it's a long weekend and am resolved to have a couple of days with no computer work, so instead I fill my time with crochet and cheese-making.

This blanket is a ridiculous project which has been going on for 9 years now - even back in October 2006 I was calling it never-ending. If I'd had known then that 9 years later it would still be haunting me I think I'd have thrown it all out.

I got it all out today and decided that I was done with it- no more blocks- so it is going to stay the size it is. Fortunately I'd made 64 blocks so just the right amount for an 8x8 blanket. Unfortunately I'd finised off none of my yarn ends and all the blocks are different sizes so my first job is finishing and blocking each block.

The cheese making was an even worse endeavour as I don't think the milk I was using was right for it so my mozzarella came out like flavourless chewing gum. But I refuse to give up and will track down the right milk and persevere until I can make something edible at least.
