Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red

Sadly my arm injury has kept me at home, and mostly in bed, with pain, and vomiting from the pain, for 4 days now.

But today we headed out as I wanted to see the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red at the Tower of London.

The sight of all of the poppies was heart-wrenching, especially when you consider that each one, of the soon to be 888,246, poppies represents just one of the British and Colonial military fatalities in World War I.

The whole site was transformed with the sea of red and as we joined the thousands upon thousands of people paying their respects it was hard to believe that just 10 months ago we had ice-skated at this very spot.
