Sparkle Star

I often find it impossible to know sometimes when I'm done with a project or when one finishes and the next begins.

One example is my Geometric Stars. Although I originally beaded them back in 2004 I have never stopped playing with them and experimenting with new ideas and variations. Some of those have appeared in Geometric Beadwork and Geometric Beadwork Volume 2 and some as individual patterns such as my Geometric Crystal Stars. This latest version has sat in my samples box for many years now just waiting for the right opportunity to appear and a request for a Christmas class was it.

Sadly as I came to photograph it today I remembered why items that hang are the hardest to capture- they just seem to want to rotate round and round no matter how much you secure them.

I originally had the good idea to photograph them in the garden hanging on Christmassy looking fir trees but then was soon driven back in by the huge spiders lurking. Sadly all the lovely weather we've been having has been perfect for spider growth which is not good if you're terrified of them as I am.

But fortunately I still have the fake grass paper I used for my iconic Rick-Rack photos so a make-shift outdoor scene was assembled and lots of Blu-tack and patience later I finally had some photos.
