Wedding Preparations

We're down in very sunny Devon and preparations for tomorrows wedding are in full swing.

Six of us drove down yesterday in a convoy of cars filled with clothes, wine, bunting, suits and all the other wedding essentials we could fit in. After my manic day yesterday I cheated and snoozed nearly all the way just waking up to arrive at the lovely Bridge Inn at Dulverton which is near Northmoor House which will be our home for the next week or so.

Today the marquee arrived along with lots of other staying guests and we all dove in and set about decorating it with hundreds of paper baubles and 100s of metres of bunting until it was a riot of colour and just perfect for a celebration.

This evening we had a large group dinner at The Bridge and it was wondrous to see a group of people gathered together to celebrate the union of two people I love. It really made me appreciate the idea of a wedding being for the public declaration of the love of two people surrounded by people who care for them. The couple getting married are a joy to know and it's a pleasure to be involved in their wedding and to get to share it with them.

Here's to tomorrow and a day of festivities and fun- all whilst dressed as a bridesmaid!
