All Book Action

It's full steam ahead on Geometric Beadwork Volume 2 here as I'm alternating between frantically trying to catch up on all the weeks I've lost and resting my poor arm in a sling and feeling sorry for myself.

The book is at the final exciting stages as I finish laying it out, play around with photos and instructions, and see just how much more I can fit in. It's currently at over 30 projects and even now I'm thinking of more variations and trying to bead them as fast as I can to squeeze them in there.

Laying the book out is also fun as I get to see the connections between the projects and look at the journey a simple spark of an idea has taken. As part of that I have been responding to many requests and adding to the 'Design and Colour' pages of the book by working out a 'flow-chart' which shows where an idea began and the questions and thoughts I had which took it in different directions and led to the projects featured.

An example of that is the first peek of one of the projects shown here for the first time ever, my Bunting Necklace. This project appears at the front of the book (as it is a easier one to bead) and I'm able to show how it was inspired by the project that appears before it and how it directly inspired and led to the next 5 projects that follow it in the book. Each one gets increasingly more complicated as I came up with ideas and got to thinking 'I wonder what would happen if...'

The exact date the book goes to print now depends on me being in the country to work on it (I'm about to be out of the country for 32 days of the next 39), the time table of the printer I'm using and the gods of fate as it all comes together but at the moment it looks like the finished book will begin flying around the world in under 55 days and counting... wish me luck!
