A Fabric Blast From The Past

posted: Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Recently someone asked me what I would do if I could choose any other career and without hesitation I replied 'fabric designer'. It was then that I remembered that I had actually done an evening class on a similar theme, but this had involved making and dying your own fabrics rather than just designing patterns.

Whilst doing more unpacking the other day I came across all my work from the course and memories of it came flooding back.

I had forgotten exactly what we did back in 2003 but seeing the samples got me reminiscing about making felt, sewing on buttons, playing with colour, sketching and stitching. The pages were filled with colour and pattern - all of which I still love.

Who knows what else I'll find as I go through boxes.
