When I booked this trip to New York I was looking forward to seeing the Thanksgiving Parade but it wasn't until we got here and I looked up the route map that I realised we merely had to look out of the apartment window for a prime view- yay!

For each of my last 3 trips to New York I had gone bead shopping with Suzanne Golden and Merle Berelowitz to a secret bead warehouse and this year I'm back there again- even though I don't think I've used all I've bought on my previous trips.

Where we are staying in New York is a very busy shopping district and it's shocking to see just how much time people devote to shopping. As we leave our apartment there are continual hoardes of people psuhing past each over in a crazy kind of panic trying to get into clothes shops

Worrying about all the books being picked up by Royal Mail kept me awake until 6am (11am Uk time) when I received a text letting me know they had all gone.

I woke up today to the news that my flight was delayed by 2 hours which proved to be a good thing as it gave me 2 extra hours to spend on the phone to Royal Mail asking them to turn up today, unlike yesterday.

First up the good- I taught yesterday at The Bead Trail in Cheshire and had a great day. It was lovely to meet up with old friends, discover new ones and put faces to name for people I have emailed, chatted with on Face book and who even made samples for Geometric Beadwork.

The book is on its last stage before heading to the printer. All that's happening now is one final check of all the photos and diagrams etc (this must be the most checked over book in the history of publishing!) then it will be uploaded and the presses will roll.

My crochet bowl project from a few months ago crept closer to completion today when I finished the last stitches. Now I just need to weave in all those thread ends, find a bigger bowl to mould it around and get stiffening.
