Glen Gallery Crafts Day Two

About once a year I convince myself that if I just try again I'll be able to knit. Yesterday was that day. It was hardly surprising when I was surrounded by hundreds of balls and hanks of tempting yarn at Glen Gallery Crafts.

As I finished class yesterday I headed back to my little cottage with two balls of yarn and was pleasantly surprised that I remembered how to cast on and knit. But then I remembered just how bad I was at it. For some reason I always end up with my last stitch of a row as very, very loose and although someone showed me a way to deal with it, I want a way to stop it. So, reminded just how bad I was, but not completely put off, I went to bed instead.

Today I was teaching spiral rope and it was such a pleasure to teach this again after a break of many years. We looked at single, double, triple, quadruple, adding fringing, loops, embellishment and so much more. I think everyone ended up having a favourite and it was great to see all the different variations produced.

Sadly I had to head home straight after class but I really look forward to another trip to Glen Gallery- and if you ever find yourself within possible travelling distance I really urge you to go. Not just to support a great local business but as a treat for yourself.
