Paris

Sometimes you just need to run away for a couple of days and this week I did just that.

Myself and a good friend packed out bags, jumped on the train and headed off to Paris.

We needed sleep and gossip as well as good sights, good food and alcohol and guessed Paris was the best place!

We started our first day with a trip to the Louvre (mainly for the shops) and then the Museum of Decorative Arts.

Then it was a trip in the dark to Montmarte and Sacré Cœur to see the incredible view across Paris.

On the way we came across lots of delights including a shop specialising in angels and the most wonderful, colourful shop just selling one kind of light-shade.

They were simple balls which fitted over strings of lights and you could buy them already made in colour themes of mix and match to make your perfect combination.

It ws the most mesmerising sight to come across- and we weren't the only ones who found it so. The shop ws a magnet for people to stop and look at the colours.

Unfortunately we were travelling light but there's always another time...
