I rang in the new year with a visit to a comedy club, a few drinks and much dancing- getting to bed around 4am.

Hence most of the 1st January was spent in bed with a 90 minute stir to do some work. Then back to bed for more rubbish TV watching.

By the 2nd I was feeling much healther and enthusiastic and decided to go for a walk.

I had visions of a nice, muddy, woodland walk and then remembered I lived in London so perhaps needed to rethink that plan.

But then our old friend Google came in handy and I found a great website with London walks- one of which was the Capital Ring.

I had never heard of this before and was delighted that a section of it was fairly near me so off we set.

It was a joy!

There was mud and woodland!

I got to see whole "secret" part of the London I live in and it was only the fact it was getting dark that made us stop before we reached the end of the section we were covering.
