Treasured Memory

I'm here at Earnley Concourse again teaching my wirework projects class.

It is a joy to visit here, with the lovely accomodation, surroundings and food, the fact we're busy making jewellery is just an added bonus!

One of my students showed me this pack of beads she had in her mother's belongings.

I would love to visit a shop where not only could you have belts buckles and buttons made with your own belongings but where pleating was executed with promptness!

The packaging conjures up many wonderful images of times and shop service long gone- and unfortunately the internet furnishes me with no knowledge of Blumer & Bourne- does anyone have any recollection of them?

I will be back at Earnley in September to teach my geomeric work as a week-long class which I'm hugely looking forward to as it will be so exciting to see what people produce over the course of the week- and what they make of my new projects!
